Background Information on the Brigade:
The Bakersfield Brigade is a Premier Development League team that is affiliated with the United Soccer League. The USL is the foremost soccer development system for the sport in the continent. Our league brings together top recent and current college athletes, elite high school players and savvy veterans. In fact, 75% of the players that were drafted to the professional ranks of soccer were from the Premier Development League in the most recent draft.
Community Support:
As anyone knows, the success of any sport affiliated organization takes dedicated individuals and support from the community to ensure success. Our goal is to provide fun, family entertainment through watching the highest level of soccer provided in the county! With that said, we are looking for volunteers and interns to assist with daily operations, public relations, graphic design, photography, game day operations, etc.
A Typical Game Includes:
- Chuck-A-Duck contest
- Pre-game with youth soccer teams
- Half-time entertainment
- Fireworks show
- Local dance troop show (select games)
- AYSO youth scrimmages
- Contests with opportunity to win prizes
- T-shirts tossed into the audience
- Group nights for local business
Our Division:
In 2006, the PDL was comprised of four conferences and eight divisions. We are in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference. Our opponents are: California Gold, Fresno Fuego, LA Storm, Orange County Blue Star, San Diego Gauchos, San Fernando Valley Quakes, San Francisco Bay Seals and the Southern California Seahorses. The 2007 divisions will be announced soon!
