TEAMWORK – PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY - PERSISTENCE
The Bakersfield Striker’s Club was established and registered with USSFA and CYSA-South in April 1999. We started in 1998 as an AYSO Spring Select team, and decided we wanted the two things AYSO could not give us. One was to play at a level that would give these talented boys the opportunity to play at the next level (high school) when the time comes. The other was to provide, for the players and their parents, the continuity that is so essential to the game; in order to field the most competitive teams we can.

In the fall of 2005, the Bakersfield Strikers Club was formally changed to the Bakersfield Brigade Youth Soccer Club.  We are affilitated with the Bakersfield Brigade PDL team in name, however we operate our club as a separate entity.  During the 2005 season, we fielded the following teams:  Boys-U17, U16 (2 teams), U15, U14, U13 (2 teams) and U12  Girls-U15 and U14.  In an effort to strengthen our Youth Club, additional boys and girl teams will be created, in the near future. We are committed to creating a "European Youth Club" atmosphere, while providing the ultimate soccer experience for our youth. If interested in joining an existing team, or forming a new one, please contact our Director of Coaching Marc Riley at mriley@bbysc.com.

SEASON – Established teams will begin training for our upcoming season in March to prepare for Cal South State/National Cup and tournaments. Our teams that are not participating in high school continue to practice through the winter months to prepare for tournaments.  We will have tryouts to form new teams and add players to existing teams in March.  The 2008-2009 season begins in September, 2008.  The teams play in Coast Soccer League, Golden Empire Soccer League and Bakersfield Girls Soccer League. We train a minimum of twice a week minimum plus games.

COST – The Bakersfield Brigade Youth Soccer Club charges monthly dues of $70 during the season for the months of August through April.  This covers the coaching staff and referee fees.  If we find that this amount is not covered, then the shortage is billed to the players.  There is a registration fee in the amount of $125, a Field Development Fee of $50 and the uniform kit is $145.  We have a scholarship fund that players are welcome to apply for if financial assistance is needed.  Many teams have businesses that assist by donating money to sponsor players, tournaments and various other activities.
