05-31-05 Orange Dominate Brigade 4-1
Bakersfield, Calif., May 31, 2005 – Bakersfield Brigade hosted Orange County Blue Stars tonight at Bakersfield Christian High School.  The Blues Stars came into the game undefeated and coming off a win last night against Fresno Fuego.  Kai Kamara managed to get his head on a throw in and scored Orange County’s first goal in the 15th minute.  In the 62nd minute Johnny Carson scored off a free kick from about 35 yards out.  “My guys told me to take a hit, I told them this was going in” said Carson.  In it went, beating the goalie just underneath the cross bar on the right side.  The momentum didn’t last long for the Brigade.  Orange County countered and in a span of 7 minutes scored three times.  All three goals coming from one player: UC Berkley player Calen Carr. Carr kept pushing forward and when Nick Theslof crossed the ball he was left alone and beat Hearron scoring the go ahead goal in the 72nd minute.  Carr also beat Brian Walker on the right side on a poor attempt at a tackle leaving tackle only to beat Hearron.  Carr took a left footed shot hitting the Upper V and Hearron near side. 
Hearron had 3 saves. 
 
Brigade committed 17 fouls 4 yellows and Derek Hanks was ejected with his second red card.  Hanks will be forced to sit out the next home against San Diego Gauchos. Nate Pena Orange County goalie had one save.  OC also had 11 shots and committed 21 fouls: 3 yellows and one ejection when Dan Marshall slid cleats up into Jay Gore and was given his second yellow card.
 
Notes:  Brigade host June 4th San Diego Gauchos at Bakersfield Christian High School.  July 2nd Brigade host Fresno Fuego and will provide a fireworks show sponsored by KGET Channel 17 and Employer Solutions Group after the game. The first 250 people in attendance will receive a free Brigade draw string bag.
