With all of their home games behind them the Bakersfield Brigade (3-3-7), Bakersfield’s Premier Development League (PDL) Team will have to go on the road to make up some ground in the Southwestern Conference as they travel to the Orange County Blue Star (2-8-3). The game is being played at Concordia University, located in Irvine with a 5pm kickoff.
“Last weekends’ loss was very disappointing and has made these last three road games of the season must wins for us,” stated Brigade Head Coach Francisco Gomez. “We definitely need to win our last games and hope for some help from some other teams to possibly leave the door open for us to make the playoffs.” added Gomez.
Coming off of a loss at the hands of the Southern California Seahorses the Blue Star will be looking for a home win. The Blue Star are out of the playoff picture but certainly can play spoiler to any chance the Brigade may have with a win on Saturday.
The Bakersfield Brigade Soccer Club Franchise is a PDL team, playing within the United Soccer Leagues’ PDL Southwestern Conference which is made up of ten teams throughout California. League play begins in April and goes through July 2008.
