Brigade Takes on the Seahorses
BAKERSFIELD, CA, June 20, 2008

With the Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza going this weekend, the Bakersfield Brigade (3-2-6), Bakersfield’s Premier Development League (PDL) Team will be looking to rebound from a 2-1 set back at the hands of the Lancaster Rattlers ( 2-7-1).  This weekend the Brigade will take on the Southern California Seahorses (1-6-2) at Bakersfield Christian High School with a 7:30pm kick off start.

“Last weekends’ lost was a disappointing one but we have to put it behind us and look forward to continuing our playoff hunt,” stated Brigade Head Coach Francisco Gomez.  “With our loyal home fans behind us we are confident we can get a good result from this weekends game that will give us some momentum going into our last five games of the season.” added Gomez.

The Southern California Seahorses will be looking to recover from a 2-0 loss against the San Francisco Bay Seals this past Saturday. The seahorses sit at the bottom of the Southwester Conference and will be looking for a road win to lift them out of the basement of the group.

This weekends’ pre-game will be the Girls High School Star Game sponsored by the US Army. Pre-game starts a 5pm, gates open at 4:30pm and the first 500 fans through the gate will receive a free “Footbolin” mini soccer game courtesy of Brighthouse Networks, BMW of Bakersfield and Advance Geomatics Engineering. This weekends’ game will also feature a great fireworks show extravaganza immediately after the game.

The Bakersfield Brigade Soccer Club Franchise is a PDL team, playing within the United Soccer Leagues’ PDL Southwestern Conference which is made up of ten teams throughout California. League play begins in April and goes through July 2008.
