With the last home game of the season, the Bakersfield Brigade (3-2-7), Bakersfield’s Premier Development League (PDL) Team will be looking to bounce back from a 1-1 tie at the hands of the Southern California Seahorses (2-6-3) . This weekend the Brigade will take on the San Francisco Seals (5-3-3) at Bakersfield Christian High School with a 7:30pm kick off start.
“Last weekends’ tie was very disappointing and really put our backs against the wall in trying to keep our playoff hopes alive,” stated Brigade Head Coach Francisco Gomez. “With our last home game of the season this Saturday, a win is important for us to have some momentum before heading on the road.” added Gomez.
Coming off of a by week and a win over the Southern California Seahorses the week prior the Seals will be looking to continue their wining streak. The Seals sit in third place of the Southwestern Conference and will be looking to stay at the top third of the ladder.
This weekends’ pre-game will be the Bakersfield Brigade Super Y U20 team taking on the LA Galaxy U20 . Pre-game starts a 5pm, gates open at 4:30pm and the first 300 fans through the gate will receive a free Brigade T-Shirt courtesy of Marie Calendars, La Caliente and Ranch Market.
The Bakersfield Brigade Soccer Club Franchise is a PDL team, playing within the United Soccer Leagues’ PDL Southwestern Conference which is made up of ten teams throughout California. League play begins in April and goes through July 2008.
