Brigade Takes on the Fusion
BAKERSFIELD, CA, June 12, 2008

With the temperature exceeding 100 degrees, the Bakersfield Brigade Men’s Premier Development League (PDL) soccer team will look to continue with their winning streak with a  second victory in as many weeks. The Brigade will be taking on the Ventura County Fusion ( 3-2-2) this Saturday night at Bakersfield Christian High School. Kick off will at 7:30pm.

The Brigade (2-1-5) are coming off an impressive 2-0 win over the Orange County Blue Stars this past Saturday at home and will be looking to carry that winning momentum in to this weekends game. “It would be nice to have two home wins in a row in front of our loyal fans,” stated Head Coach Francisco Gomez.  “A win this weekend at home will be big in helping us climb to the top half of the standings,” expressed Francisco.

The Fusion are coming in riding a three game winning streak with their most recent win over the Los Angeles Legends (5-1-2), one to zero. Currently the Fusion and Brigade sit tied for third place in the Southwestern Conference with 11 points each.

The pre-game will feature the Bakersfield Brigade Super-Y U20 scoring off against the Ventura County Fusion U20 team. Gates will open at 4:30pm with a 5:00pm pre-game kick off and the PDL game staring at 7:30pm. The first 500 fans through the gate will receive Brigade Cheer Stix sponsored by Goodwill Industries.

The Bakersfield Brigade Soccer Club Franchise is a PDL team, playing within the United Soccer Leagues’ PDL Southwestern Conference which is made up of ten teams throughout California. League play begins in April and goes through July 2008.
