Brigade Looking To Extend Winning Streak
BAKERSFIELD, CA, May 30, 2008

With temperatures reaching a comfortable level of 85 degrees, the Bakersfield Brigade (1-0-4) Premier Development League Team will be looking to extend their winning streak when they face the San Fernando Valley Quakes this Saturday.  The game will take place at Bakersfield Christian High School, located on the corner of Stockdale Hwy. and Allen Rd, with a 7:30 pm kick off.

“Last weekends road victory over the So Cal Seahorses was a hard fought, but good road win for the team . . . with our last four draws it was certainly a needed win and a great lift for the teams confidence,” stated Brigade head coach Francisco Gomez. A second win in as many weeks could put the Brigade with in one point out first place in the PDL Southwestern Conference.

The Quakes (1-2-1) had an impressive season opener with a 3-1 win over the So Cal Seahorses, followed by a 2-2 tie with the Ventura County Fusion. Since that game, the Quakes have been in a two game slide with losses against the LA Legends and San Jose Frogs. The Quakes will certainly be looking for a much needed road win.

Gates open at 6:30pm as the previously scheduled pre-game will NOT be taking place.

The Bakersfield Brigade Soccer Club Franchise is a PDL team, playing within the United Soccer Leagues’ PDL Southwestern Conference which is made up of ten teams throughout California. League play begins in April and goes through July 2008.
