Bakersfield Heats Up as the Fuego Comes into Town
BAKERSFIELD, CA, May 16, 2008

With the temperature promising to reach triple digits, the Bakersfield Brigade Men’s Premier Development League (PDL) soccer team will look for their first win against the Fresno Fuego (1-1-0) on Saturday night. Game time is 7:30pm (pst) and will be held at Bakersfield Christian High School.

The Brigade (0-0-3) have recorded two shut outs thus far in the season, but have yet to record a win. “Our team is very hungry and is looking forward to Saturday’s match against the Fuego,” Stated Head Coach Francisco Gomez. “The Fuego will bring a good game they always do, they’ve allowed 4 goals in two games so we know they can be scored on, we just need to capitalize on our opportunities,” added Gomez

The Fuego are coming off a 2-1 win over the So. Cal Seahorses (0-3-0) while the Brigade captured their second draw of the season against the LA Legends (1-0-1). Both teams have yet to play since last Saturday evening so both squads should be fresh and ready to go on Saturday.

The Girls All Star pregame match has been POSTPONED therefore there WILL NOT be a pregame this Saturday. Brigade PDL game time is 7:30pm (pst) with gates opening at 7pm. The first 500 fans in the gates will receive a 2008 Team Poster, sponsored by KGET and El Popular.

The Bakersfield Brigade Soccer Club Franchise is a PDL team, playing within the United Soccer Leagues’ PDL Southwestern Conference which is made up of ten teams throughout California. League play begins in April and goes through July 2008.
