Brigade Takes On the Orange County Blue Stars
BAKERSFIELD, CA, June 6, 2008

The Bakersfield Brigade (1-1-5), Premier Development League Team, will be looking to rebound from a tough road loss at the hands of the Fresno Fuego this past Thursday. They will be looking to get back on the path to victory this Saturday night as they take on the Orange County Blue Star at Bakersfield Christian Highs School. Kick off will be at 7:30pm.

“Thursday’s loss was a difficult one,” stated Brigade Head Coach Francisco Gomez. “With some key players unable to make the trip we found ourselves having difficulties getting into a good team rhythm” added Gomez

The Blue Star comes into Bakersfield with a (2-3-2) record and coincidentally, tied with the Brigade in Division Standings. “Our team is in need of a much needed lift from our home fans. . .  with their support on Saturday, we will be looking for a big home win against the Blue Star,” stated Gomez.

The Brigade pregame will feature the Brigade U20 Super Y League Team squaring off against MGFM Riverside. Kick off is at 5:00pm and the gates will open 4:30pm. Saturday night’s games are sponsored by Glinn & Giordano Physical Therapy. The first 500 fans will receive a Brigade Mega Phone.

The Bakersfield Brigade Soccer Club Franchise is a PDL team, playing within the United Soccer Leagues’ PDL Southwestern Conference which is made up of ten teams throughout California. League play begins in April and goes through July 2008.
