The Bakersfield Brigade Men’s PDL soccer team will be hosting the LA Storm on Saturday at Bakersfield Christian High School. The game begins at 7pm with the pregame beginning at 5. Saturday’s pregame will consist of players chosen by the Bakersfield Californian’s All Area High School team.

The Brigade’s Saturday line up will feature not one, but two MLS Stars as well as past US National Team Players. Brigade Head Coach Francisco Gomez played professionally in the MLS for eight years. In addition, Gomez played and captained the US National Under-17 Championship team in the 1995 FIFA and in 1999 Gomez played with the U-20 National team in the World Youth Championship in Nigeria. Shortly after, Gomez was drafted by the Kansas City Wizards and was part of the team that won the 2000 MLS Cup.

Wynalda is a “Soccer Icon” known throughout the world today and is currently tied with Landon Donavan for the most goals scored (34) in US Men’s National Team play. Wynalda is also known for scoring the first goal in MLShistory. Wynalda joins the Brigade this Saturday and will definitely see action against the LA Storm. Fellow US National Player Joe-Max Moore will be accompanying Eric Wynalda this Saturday in Bakersfield. Moore was a member of the 1994 and 1998 World Cup

squads as is among the USA’s all-time leading scorers. Moore was team MVP for the MLS Revolution in both 1996 and 1998 and is considered the most consistent goal-scorer of all-time while playing for the US Men’s National Team, scoring at least once for the National Team in each of the games within a seven year span.

“We are bringing talent here for all of Bakersfield to see,” stated Brigade Vice President and General Manager Joe Jimenez. “C’mon out Saturday and bring your autograph books, three MLS and US National Stars here at a Brigade game . . . how much better can it get,” added Jimenez.
