Brigade to Host Cal State Dominguez Hills in Preseason Match
BAKERSFIELD, CA, April 12, 2007

The Bakersfield Brigade, Bakersfield’s own Men’s Premier Development League (PDL) Soccer Team announced today that they will be hosting a Preseason match against the Cal State Dominguez Hills Men’s Soccer Team this Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Bakersfield Christian High School. The game will begin at 7pm and will only cost $5 to get in the gates. This will be the first “home” game of the season for the Brigade as they enter their 3rd PDL season at Bakersfield Christian High School . “This game will be a good opportunity for our current players to show me what they’ve got as we prepare for our season opener against the Fresno Fuego on the 28th of this month,” stated Brigade Head Coach Francisco Gomez.

The team that will be on the field on Saturday will not be the final roster for the Brigade this season. In fact, Division I & II Colleges don’t release their players until May 1 and depending on whether they are on a semester or quarter system, some players may not be released until the first week in June. “It is our responsibility to adhere to NCAA rules and regulations in regards to collegiate players and their eligibility to play as amateurs,” stated Brigade Vice President Joe Jimenez. “Recruitment is still ongoing and we are looking forward to bringing some very exciting and talented players to play in front of our home crowd,” added Jimenez.

The Brigade will open their 2007 Season against the Fresno Fuego on April 28th and will play the following two Saturdays at home against the Orange County Blue Star and Ventura County Fusion teams.  The Bakersfield Brigade Soccer Club Franchise is a PDL team, playing within the United Soccer Leagues’ PDL Southwestern Conference which is made up of ten teams throughout California
