The Bakersfield Brigade (www.BakersfieldBrigade.com), Bakersfield’s own Premier Development League (PDL) soccer team, announced today that Vince Licciardi was named the Brigade Mini’s Coach of the Week for Week 1.  Vince was also nicknamed Vince “The Vulture” by his Brigade Mini’s players over the weekend.

 

“I really enjoyed working with the kids this weekend,” stated Brigade player, Vince Licciardi.  “There were definitely some talented young players out there, but more importantly they were all just so cute,” added Licciardi.  Licciardi is a second year Goalkeeper with the Bakersfield Brigade and helped to lead the team to four wins out of their last five games in 2005.  The Brigade Mini’s Program resumes this weekend with the technical focus on “passing.”  The Brigade Mini’s are held at Saunders Park in central Bakersfield from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday mornings through July 1.

 

The Brigade is home to the Los Angeles Storm on Saturday, May 20 at 7:00 pm.  The game will be held at Bakersfield Christian High School (on the corner of Stockdale Hwy. and Allen Rd.).  The Bakersfield Brigade Soccer Club, playing within the United Soccer Leagues’ PDL Southwestern Conference is made up of nine teams throughout California.
