The Bakersfield Brigade, Bakersfield’s own Premier Development League (PDL) soccer team, announced today that they have completed their first filming production of “Inside the 18” with host Pep Fernandez.
Inside of Kosmos Restaurant and Bar the Brigade management along with Pep Fernandez, began the first of several infomercial productions in which the Brigade will begin to air in mid-December and continue throughout their 2006 season. The planned 30 minute infomercial will be aired via Brighthouse Networks and will include news pertaining to the United Soccer Leagues (USL) where the Brigade plays under the USL’s Premier Development League (PDL) Division. Also included in the production will be upcoming soccer events, player news, wrap up on the Brigade inaugural season, what’s new for the 2006 season and information pertaining to the Brigade Youth Soccer Organization. “Our intent is to capture the attention of all soccer, sports fans in the greater Kern County area and provide them with relevant “soccer” news” stated Brigade President and owner Jeffrey Thorn. Whether it’s Youth matches or Major League Soccer action . . . if it’s soccer related, we want to share it,” added Thorn.
The Brigade have contracted with two local restaurants for the locations for the production of their show; Kosmos Restaurant and Bar located in Downtown Bakersfield at 1623 19th St. And, RJs at Riverlakes located at 9440 Hageman Rd. in the Northwest part of town. “We’re really excited to have partnered with these two restaurants and look forward to producing a great family show,” stated Brigade General Manager Joe Jimenez. “The community support thus far has been great and we expect it to grow as we build on our business relationships and provide a product that brings family entertainment at a low cost,” added Jimenez.
The Bakersfield Brigade Soccer Club Franchise is a PDL team, playing within the United Soccer Leagues’ PDL Southwestern Conference which is made up of nine teams throughout California. League play begins in May and goes through July 2006.
